Supreme Court Collegium recommends Advocate Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav for elevation as Madhya Pradesh High Court judge

Madhya Pradesh Sept 4(ILNS): The Supreme Court Collegium in its meeting dated September 1, 2021, has recommended the name of Advocate Shri Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav for elevation as a judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court. 

If the name is approved by the Centre and following the appointment, it will increase the current strength to 30, from 29 with 13 Vacancies of the Madhya Pradesh High Court. The sanctioned strength of the Madhya Pradesh High Court is 53 which includes 40 permanent Judges and 13 Additional Judges. The Madhya Pradesh High Court has its principal bench at Jabalpur with the other two benches at Indore and Gwalior. 

According to the list of Judges by the Department of Justice, Ministry of Law and Justice, as of September 1, 2021, the Madhya Pradesh High Court currently has 29 Permanent Judges and there is no additional judge at present./ILNS/KR/SNG
