SCAORA urges SC to postpone AOR Examination, from June to December, 2021

New Delhi, May 2 (ILNS) The Supreme Court Advocates-on-Record Association (SCAORA) today urged the Supreme Court to postpone the Advocates-On-Record Examination 2021, in view of the srcond wave of COVID-19 in the country, leading to a large number of infections and deaths.

In a letter written by Honorary Secretary of SCAORA Joseph Aristotle S to Registrar and Secretary of Board of Examiners of the Supreme Court Rajesh Kumar Goel, the Association urged the apex court to postpone the examination from June, 2021 to December, 2021.

The letter mentioned Rule 1 of the Regulations regarding the Advocates-on-Record Examination, which provides for exams to be held in December.

It said, “The Examination shall be held under the general supervision of a Committee of three Judges of the Court to be appointed by the Chief Justice of India and to be designated as the Examination Committee, unless otherwise specifically ordered by the said Committee the Examination will be held twice a year, preferably in May and December.” ILNS/KR/RJ
