Reduction in COVID-19 cases not to be taken lightly: Delhi HC

New Delhi, May 20 (ILNS) Expressing contentment over the decreasing number of COVID-19 cases in the national capital, the Delhi High Court today, however, said the reduction in the number of cases shall not be taken lightly.

The Bench of Justice Vipin Sanghi and Justice Jasmeet Singh said, “It is the duty of the Union of India and the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD) to ensure that they are not underprepared for the situation that may arise. We direct them to file a status report in this regards on Monday.”

Amicus Curiae Rajshekhar Rao said: “Milords similar lines is the Buffer stock, regarding the Surajkund plant, there is some problem. As per now, it is not a glaring issue.

Senior Counsel Rahul Mehra, appearing for Delhi government, said: “Everyday, there is a special supply coming in, oxygen supply is far less, buffer stock was required at a miserable time, today the buffer stock is 419 MT.

Justice Sanghi: “What is on the side of the Centre?
Advocate Nidhi Mohan Parashar, appearing for the Union government, said: “We’ll file our report.”
Justice Sanghi: “This is something you had to do, we are not going to leave this unless situation normalises.” ILNS/KR/RJ
