Punjab & Haryana HC calls PIL alleging Prince Harry of breaking promise of marriage as ‘Day-Dreamer’s Fantasy’

-

Chandigarh, Apr 13 (ILNS) The Punjab and Haryana High Court has dismissed a petition filed by an advocate, alleging that Prince Harry, member of the Royal family in the United Kingdom, broke his promise to marry her, calling it a ‘Day-Dreamer’s Fantasy’.

Justice Arvind Singh Sangwan, while hearing the petition filed by Advocate Palwinder Kaur, observed that the petition, seeking directions to the United Kingdom Police Cell to issue arrest warrant against the Royal, has no grounds.

It was mentioned by the Court that it specially and specifically took up physical hearing on a virtual hearing day, upon the request of the petitioner. The Court observed that the plea is nothing, but just a day-dreamer’s fantasy about marrying Prince Harry.

When Justice Sangwan asked the woman whether she has ever visited the United Kingdom, which she replied in negative. She also stated that she has sent messages to Prince Harry, as well as Prince Charles over social media platform.

To this, the Single-Judge Bench said that it could only show its sympathy for the petitioner that she has believed such fake conversations over social media to be true.

Justice Sangwan pointed out that the petition was very poorly drafted, both grammatically and lacking the knowledge of pleadings, speaks about some emails between the petitioner and Prince Harry, in which the person, sending the email, has stated that he promises to marry soon.

The court also observed that the annexure used by the petitioner are not true copies and stated, “It is well known fact that fake IDs are created on various social media sites like Facebook and Twitter and the authenticity of such conversation cannot be relied upon by this Court. There is every possibility that the so-called Prince Harry may be sitting in a Cyber Cafe of a village in Punjab, looking for greener pastures for himself”.  ILNS/AKS-KR/RJ
