New Delhi, Jun 22 (ILNS) The Delhi High Court today allowed further time to the Delhi Government to file a status report in a bail application filed by a person accused of illegally procuring over 500 oxygen concentrators.
A Single-Judge Bench of Justice Anup Jairam Bhambani allowed time till Friday to the Delhi Government to file a status report regarding the bail application of Anuj Jain, who had allegedly acquired over 500 oxygen concentrators.
Jain is in custody since May 1 in an FIR filed under relevant Sections of Indian Penal Code, Essential Commodities Act, and Epidemic Disease Act.
Advocate Anurag Ojha, appearing for the petitioner, submitted that the state is making delaying tactics. Jain has been in custody for 56 days and they are yet again seeking for more time. The state is fastening criminal liability first and collecting incriminating material later, he added.
Whereas, the Counsel appearing for the state said that there have been some new developments, which have led to an inordinate delay in filing of the status report.
The Bench posted the matter for further hearing on June 25. ILNS/
