Madhya Pradesh Jul 29(ILNS): The Jabalpur Bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court has recently directed the Superintendent of Police, Bhopal to decide the representation of the petitioner, against whom cases are pending for the last 20 years, in two months.
A single bench comprising of Justice Vijay Kumar Shukla while considering the submission of the State Counsel disposed of the petition with the direction to the Superintendent of Police, Bhopal “to pass orders on the representation of the petitioner in accordance with law within a period of two months from the date of communication of the order”, the order reads.
The petitioner, Harikishan Kushwaha, sought a direction against the harassment committed by police authority with him.
Anuj Singh, the counsel for the petitioner, submitted that old cases registered against the petitioner are pending for about 20 years and the same is being misused without finalizing the same. It is further submitted that in this regard, the petitioner has made several representations to the Superintendent of Police, Bhopal for closing the cases but no action has been taken to date.
Jitendra Shrivastava, state counsel, submitted that the Superintendent of Police, Bhopal will look into the matter and will pass the necessary orders in the matter./ILNS/SS/SV/SNG
