MP HC directs state govt to look into the possibility of opening three more dispensaries in Jabalpur for Defence Department Pensioners.

Bhopal, Sept 8 (ILNS)The Madhya Pradesh High Court recently, disposed of a Petition seeking a direction to the state government to open three more dispensaries in Jabalpur for Defence Department Pensioners and directed the state authorities to look into the possibility of the petitioner’s demands.

The  Petition has been filed as Pro Bono Publico (for the public good) in the year 2013, seeking a direction to the respondents to open three more dispensaries under Central Government Health Services (CGHS) Scheme in Jabalpur for Defence Department Pensioners. Petitioner is the President of Defence Civilian Pensioners Federation and also a Social Worker and Advocate.

The Jabalpur Division Bench of Chief Justice Mohammad Rafiq and Justice Vijay Kumar Shukla directed the Director General, Central Government Health Services, New Delhi to consider and decide the representation of the petitioner in accordance with law within a period of four months from the date of communication of the order.

It is submitted by the Petitioner that in the said department pensioners/patients are more than one lakh and Dispensary is situated in Lekha Nagar Cantt. Only two doctors are available to look after a number of patients.

J.K. Jain, Assistant Solicitor General informed the Court that the Petitioner has already submitted a representation and the said representation shall be considered and decided by the competent authority i.e. Director General, Central Government Health Services, New Delhi in accordance with law.

The Bench disposed of the Petition with a direction to the Director General, Central Government Health Services, New Delhi to consider and decide the representation of the petitioner in accordance with law within a period of four months from the date of communication of the order./ILNS/SS/SNG
