Bhopal Sept 9 (ILNS) The Madhya Pradesh High Court recently , disposed of a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) , seeking direction to the state government to make regular appointments in Rani Durgavati University, Jabalpur.

The PIL was filed by one Anand Kumar Dwivedi way back in the year 2013  with the prayer that the respondents be directed to make regular appointments on the vacant and sanctioned posts of Professors, Associate Professors and Assistant Professors in Rani Durgavati University, Jabalpur.

Parag Tiwari, Counsel appearing for the Rani Durgavati University  submitted that subsequent to filing of the Petition, the advertisement was issued and regular appointments for 13 posts of Professors, 27 posts of Associate Professors and 35 posts of Assistant Professors were made and that the Petition has thus, outlived its purpose. Reference is made to advertisement issued on 20.01.2014.
