Delhi High Court dismisses parent’s plea for waiver of Board exam fee


New Delhi, Mar 26 (ILNS) The Delhi High Court today dismissed a petition filed by NGO Parents Forum for Meaningful Education seeking a waiver of examination fee charged from students appearing for the Class 10th and 12th board examination.

Turning down the plea, the division bench of Chief Justice D.N. Patel and Justice Jasmeet Singh said, “This seems to be more of a Publicity Interest Litigation.” The court further noted that every government has its own budgetary provisions and waiving the fees would add a grave burden on the government.

The court said that the decision of waiving fees is a policy complex decision and depends on the availability of money, public works to be done by government.ILNS/SNG/RJ
