Delhi High Court directs Delhi Police to intensify efforts to find minor girl missing since January 25

New Delhi, Mar 9 (ILNS) The Delhi High Court directed Delhi Police to intensify efforts to locate, recover and produce the minor girl missing since January 25, 2021, before the Court in a Habeas corpus writ filed by her Mother.

A divisional bench of Justice Siddharth Mridul and Justice Anup Jairam Bhambhani noted, “Let status report detailing the steps taken by the Delhi Police from the time of the disappearance of the petitioner’s minor daughter ‘K’ was reported to them, duly authored by DCP, North-West, Delhi, be filed.”

The petition has been filed by the mother of a minor girl ‘K’, who allegedly went missing on January 25 after her mother dropped her to school. It has been alleged that the minor girl has been picked up by some school boys. The petitioner has sought direction to the Delhi Police to produce her minor daughter before the Court. Senior Standing Counsel (Criminal Side) Rahul Mehra and Advocate Chaitan Gosain, appearing for the Delhi Police, accepted notice and sought time to file a status report.

The bench directed, “Delhi Police is directed to intensify efforts to locate, recover and produce the petitioner’s minor daughter ‘K’ before this Court on or before the next date of hearing, under the supervision of the DCP, North-West, Delhi.”

The matter is listed for further hearing on March 12. ILNS/SNG/JR
