Delhi HC issues notice to Centre, Delhi govt over people not following COVID-19 protocols


New Delhi, Jun 18 (ILNS) The Delhi High Court today issued notice to both the Central and the Delhi government, asking them to file a status report over people not wearing masks and not following the COVID-19 protocols.

Taking suo motu cognisance on various images of marketplaces circulated on WhatsApp, the Vacation Bench of Justices Navin Chawla and Asha Menon said there is a need for certain more strict measures required to be taken in the national capital to prevent further spread of COVID-19 infection.

The Division Bench said, “We cannot afford a third wave. Everyone must wear masks and adhere to social distancing.” ILNS/KR/RJ
