New Delhi, Apr 7 (ILNS) The Delhi High Court today quashed a petition that challenged the imposition of fines on those not wearing masks, saying that mask is like a “suraksha kavach,” which protects both the person wearing it and those around.
The Single Judge Bench of Justice Pratibha M Singh said this, while dismissing a writ petition filed against the imposition of fines by the Delhi government on persons not wearing masks, while travelling alone in personal vehicles.
“Scientists and international governments advise wearing of a mask. The challenge of the pandemic was enormous and the wearing of face masks is necessary, whether a person is vaccinated or not,” the Court said. ILNS/SNG/RJ
