Delhi HC allows serving of notice, Summons, documents through Email, WhatsApp and Fax amid COVID

New Delhi, Apr 17 (ILNS) The Delhi High Court has revived its earlier circular, allowing service of all documents, Notices, Summons and Daks to be effected through E-mail, Fax and WhatsApp till April 24.

The Court yesterday directed, “All documents/ notices/ Summons/Daks through physical mode be dispensed with, except where there is a specific order to that effect by the Court, and that such service be instead permitted to be effected through email/fax/whatsapp.”

It ordered the concerned parties to provide necessary E-mail addresses and other details for the purpose.

The procedure of sending documents/Summons/Daks through electronic mode will be done by the Despatch Branch/ Process Serving Agency, in coordination with the concerned judicial branches and IT Branch, from their seats, the Court informed in its circular.

It further stated that the usual mode of physical delivery will resume after the situation becomes normal. ILNS/KR/SNG/RJ
