New Delhi, Jul 22 (ILNS) The Delhi High Court today allowed the District Courts to function on physical mode on experimental basis under its jurisdiction from Aug 16.
The office order signed by Registrar General Manoj Jain states that High Court in continuation of Previous Order , “all the judicial officers shall endeavour to take up all matters of their respective courts through videoconferencing” on July 24, 2021.
The Full Court observed that physical hearings in the District Courts in Delhi may be resumed in a restricted manner with effect from August 16, 2021 on experimental basis , subject to further orders based on evaluation of the situation of the pandemic in the NCT of Delhi, the order reads.
It is pertinent to note that physical hearing would only be in a restricted manner. Earlier on June 28 , the Delhi High Court decided to continue with the existing system of hearing urgent cases via video conference till July 23 amidst the threat of Delta Plus, a variant of concern of coronavirus. A similar order was also passed by the high court with regard to the functioning of district courts here, stating that all the judicial officers shall take up urgent matters and final arguments cases of their respective courts through video conferencing till July 23 while the order matters shall be adjourned by them./ILNS/SNG
