Amravati, Jun 24 (ILNS) The Andhra Pradesh government today decided to cancel the SSC Board (Class 10) and Intermediate Board (Class 12) examination, in view of the rising number of COVID-19 cases, State Education Minister Audimulapu Suresh confirmed.
Earlier in the day, the Supreme Court had made critical remarks against the state’s move to hold exams in the last week of July.
The apex court had warned the state government about its decision of holding exams, when other states have decided to scrap those for this year, considering the Novel Coronavirus pandemic.
Yesterday, the Andhra Pradesh government had informed the SC that it will conduct the exams, as the state gives grades to Class 10 students and the results of internal assessment may not be accurate.
According to the Board of Intermediate Education Andhra Pradesh (BIEAP), 25 percent weightage of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education is given to Class 12 exams. ILNS/KR/RJ
