Allahabad Bar Association protests against not being included in President Ram Nath Kovind’s Prog

Allahabad Sept 10 (ILNS) The High Court Bar Association will decide on Friday to oppose the President Ram Nath Kovind’s program organized on September 11 in the Allahabad High Court.

Earlier, Allahabad High Court  Bar Association has unanimously decided to not participate in the function as biggest Bar Association of Lawyers Fraternity having not been invited to the foundation-stone laying program for construction of Multi-level Parking & Advocate Chambers in Allahabad HC Complex.

The Executive Committee of the Bar Association called an emergency meeting and decided to boycott the event. An emergency meeting was called on the day of September 09 by the High Court Bar Association regarding this matter. In which it was decided unanimously that the program would be boycotted due to lack of proper representation to the advocates.

In the resolution passed, it has been said that Asia’s largest bar association is being neglected in the program and lawyers are not being given proper place in the program nor are they being included.

The President of High Court  Bar Association Amarendra Nath Singh and General Secretary has sent the resolution for information to the Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court , “with heavy hearts”.

An office-bearer of the Bar Association said that after the proposal was received, President Amarendra Nath Singh was called by the Acting Chief Justice for talks. After talks with them late in the evening, the decision to boycott has been postponed till Friday.

Bar’s General Secretary Prabha Shanker  Mishra says that there have been positive talks with the acting Chief Justice. The decision on the boycott will be taken in the executive meeting on Friday.

Bar sources say that only 330 people are allowed to attend the President’s program under the Covid 19 protocol.

In this, High Court Justice , officers, district administration, police, media, dignitaries are all involved. The executive and office bearers of the Bar Association have been called, but the common advocates are not getting a place in the program, due to which the Advocates are protesting, as a result of which the Bar Association has decided to boycott the program in a resolution on Thursday.

It is pertinent to note that President Ram Nath Kovind is coming to Prayagraj on September 11 to lay the foundation stone for the proposed multi-label parking and chamber for Law University and Advocates./ILNS/SS/SNG
