New Delhi, Jun 8 (ILNS) A letter penned by a 10-year-old girl to Chief Justice of India NV Ramana, thanking the Supreme Court and the Judiciary for helping the people affected by COVID-19, made him overjoyed, so much so that he immediately gave a sweet reply to her.
Describing the letter as a beautiful piece that “touched his heart,” Justice Ramana said that it has increased the stature of the Judges and doubled their responsibilities.
The letter has been written by Kerala resident Lidwina Joseph, studying in Class 5 at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Thrissur. In her letter, she said that she was gravely worried at the number of deaths in Delhi and other parts of the country due to the Novel Coronavirus pandemic.
Lidwina said she learnt from newspaper that the Supreme Court had effectively interceded to end the sufferings of people. The child also said that she was happy and proud of the apex court’s action for ensuring the supply of oxygen.
The girl credited the Supreme Court of taking effective steps to bring down COVID-19 and its death rate. She thanked CJI Ramana for this and said she was proud because of the Court’s feat.
Such was the effect of the letter that CJI Ramana immediately replied to her. He first of all thanked the child of her artwork showing a Judge of the Court. The CJI said he was more than impressed by the way she kept track of things happening in the country and her concern for the well-being of the people.
CJI Ramana said she will surely grow up to be a responsible citizen of the country in the future and blessed her for her all-round success. The CJI has gifted the child a copy of the Constitution with his signature. ILNS/SHV/RJ
